The widespread sale of E10 gasoline will be rolled out in Denmark from 1 January, according to industry organisation Drivkraft Denmark.
E10 gasoline — which contains up to 10pc ethanol — will be the standard grade at filling stations, while traditional E5 gasoline will still be available at a number of stations, the organisation said.
In Europe, the Netherlands most recently rolled out E10 nationwide on 1 October, while Slovakia and Lithuania are also expected to switch to E10 on 1 January.
Since the release of E10 in Germany, the blend has been unpopular with drivers and only accounted for around a 13.6pc share of the gasoline market between January and September this year.
