LPG sold on Turkmenistan's State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange in Ashgabat increased by more than half to 347,300t last year. The rise in sales was a result of the commissioning of the Akhal gas-to-liquids plant in Ovan-depe, as well as higher gas processing at other plants. The main buyer remained Afghanistan, which took218,000t, as a result of low transportation costs to the country and stable demand.
