Uncertainty about the future of the ex-Ilva assets in Italy is not yet over, as negotiations between Luxembourg-based steelmaker ArcelorMittal and the Italian government continue.

A court hearing scheduled for today has now been postponed until 6 March, providing extra time for an agreement to be reached. Market participants had expected the negotiations to continue until the hearing.

"The new industrial plan would contemplate investments in green technology, including through a new company funded by public and private investors," ArcelorMittal said yesterday.
