Low-cost airline Easyjet will resume flights from 15 June, as air travel demand is slowly increasing and lockdown measures across Europe are eased.

The carrier will primarily focus on resuming domestic flights in the UK and France, and it said further routes will be announced over the coming weeks.

"We will continue to closely monitor the situation across Europe so that when more restrictions are lifted the schedule will continue to build over time to match demand, while also ensuring we are operating efficiently and on routes that our customers want", Easyjet chief executive Johan Lundgren said.

The carrier grounded its entire fleet on 30 March as a result of government-imposed travel restrictions.

Signs of returning European jet fuel demand have supported prices in recent sessions to an outright price of $267.50/t yesterday, the highest since 17 March. Jet fuel cargo margins to North Sea Dated turned positive for the first time in two weeks on 19 May, but fell into negative territory again yesterday at a 16¢/bl discount.
