Not for profit social enterprise organisation One Acre Fund has issued a tender to buy 1,308t of 17-17-17 and 1,210t of CAN fertilizer for the upcoming Tanzania application season.

The fertilizer, required for farmer distribution starting on 1 October this year, needs to be bagged into small pack sizes, delivered to One Acre's regional warehouses and prepared for distribution. This means arrival at the port of Dar es Salaam by 30 September.

The tender closes on 14 August with offers to be valid for one week.

Tanzania's total imports are estimated at around 500,000 t/yr. Total NPK and CAN imports are around 80,000 t/yr each. The 17-17-17 grade is mainly used on tea and barley, while CAN is popular for tobacco, maize, paddy rice and sorghum.
