Italian system operator Snam will auction gas entry capacity for December into the Italian network from the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (Tap) on 16 November.

The operator will offer 362 GWh/d — equivalent to 30.2mn m³/d — of firm entry capacity at Melendugno, where Tap meets the Italian grid.

The auction will take place from 9:00 CET on 16 November on the Prisma platform. The operator has set a starting price of €2.313/kWh/d/runtime for the month, or €0.746/MWh.

And 18.9 GWh/d — or 1.6mn m³/d — of firm bundled capacity for entry at Melendugno and exit from Tap will also be auctioned on 16 November, with a starting price of €4.745/MWh.

A previously published tender for unbundled exit capacity from Tap to the Italian grid is no longer scheduled on Prisma.

About 9.2mn m³/d of capacity has already been booked for next month on a long-term basis. Tap is to carry gas to Europe from Azerbaijan, with 8bn m³/yr of its initial 10bn m³/yr capacity earmarked for Italy.
