Genesis' Cameron Highway Oil Pipeline System (CHOPS) in the US Gulf of Mexico resumed service earlier today after being offline since hurricane damage to an associated platform on the line last August.

Genesis said it has completed the CHOPS bypass at its Garden Banks 72 platform and oil has resumed flowing to the Texas Gulf coast where it is sold as Southern Green Canyon (SGC).

Crude that typically flows into SGC had been rerouted into the Poseidon and Bonito oil streams in Louisiana during the outage.

The restart of the pipeline has been delayed several times as the company built the bypass around the damaged platform.
