Nola DAP jumps on tight supply
US DAP barge values continued to climb this morning as uncertainty stemming from the conflict in Ukraine compounded with tight nearby availability at New Orleans.
A March DAP barge this morning traded at $895/st fob Nola, a $30/st increase from Monday, as buyers vie for limited near-term availability ahead of the spring application season.
Industry participants maintain that DAP remains comparatively tighter versus MAP, likely the product of a thin first quarter import lineup. But should Russia's invasion of Ukraine impact the flow of Russian phosphate exports, importers agree MAP would become disproportionately tighter into the summer and fall.
