Ford, GM cut NorthAm production: Update
Updated headline, added Ford production adjustments.
US automakers Ford and General Motors (GM) are cutting automotive production in North America as they continue to deal with parts shortages.
Ford is taking down its Flat Rock, Michigan, sedan plant on 28-29 April for semiconductor-related shortages. Ford shut the facility down the week of 4 April because of semiconductor shortages.
GM has shut its Bowling Green, Kentucky, Corvette plant the week of 25 April because of non-semiconductor-related parts shortages, a company spokesman said. It is expected to come back online on 2 May.
Earlier in April, GM had to close its Ft Wayne, Indiana, full-size truck plant for two weeks because of chip shortages.
