Nigeria's 22mn t/yr Bonny Island LNG export facility has declared force majeure on LNG supplies after flooding in Delta state disrupted its feedgas suppliers' production, operator Nigeria LNG told Argus.

It is unclear how long the force majeurewill last, or how many cargoes it will cover. The plant has typically shipped 3-5 LNG cargoes a week since completing maintenance in mid-September, according to preliminary shiptracking data from Vortexa.

Three empty carriers that had been heading for Bonny appear to change course earlier today and were heading away from the facility, shiptracking data show.

The country's meteorological agency has warned that the flooding could last until the end of November in several southern states, including Delta.
