Brazil authorizes 365MW gas plant to begin operations

Brazilian electricity regulator Aneel authorized a 365MW natural gas plant in Maranhao state to begin commercial operations.

Aneel authorized the Parnaiba V thermal plant to launch operations in a statement published 14 November after previously authorizing the plant to begin test operations in June. The plant, which can power 1.6mn households, is a part of the Parnaiba complex, which has 1,900MW of installed capacity, according to Aneel.
