Production at JSW Steel USA's Ohio mill fell to 80,000 short tons (st) for the quarter ended 31 December, down by nearly half from a year earlier.

JSW previously said "subdued market conditions in [the US]" were a reason why volumes were down.

The Mingo Junction, Ohio, mill, which has a production capacity of 1.65mn st/yr, or 413,000st/quarter, suffered a fire last year that damaged wiring and lead to an unknown amount of downtime.
