Electric arc furnace (EAF) steelmaker Nucor has kept its plate pricing flat for a third month.

The company kept plate prices at $1,570/short ton (st) as it opens up its September books, according to a 31 July announcement.

Prices have been relatively flat since May with plate service centers highlighting recently that resale prices have been undercutting replacement prices from the mills.

Some hoped Nucor would lower prices to help stem some of the rising costs they have been incurring.
