US rare earths explorer Rare Earths Americas (REA) today said it will develop and explore high-grade rare earth assets in US and Brazil, following a $16mn private funding round.
REA holds four assets in its portfolio — the Foothills project in the US and the Alpha, Constellation and Homer projects in Brazil.
Its Foothills project is a new rare earth discovery in Georgia, with grades up to 41.3pc total rare earth oxides and surface monazite sands rich in dysprosium and terbium.
REA's Alpha project in Bahia and Constellation project in Minas Gerais are ionic clay assets in Brazil, totaling 1bn metric tonnes of rare earth mineralization including dysprosium and terbium.
All three projects also host neodymium and praseodymium mineralization.
REA's Homer project in Goias, Brazil, comprises multiple, large carbonatite clusters with potential for rare earth and niobium discoveries.
