The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) did not report full export sales for the week ended 25 September due to the partial shutdown of the US government, halting many of the agency's regularly scheduled reports and data releases.
But prior to the data disruption, USDA posted some daily individual sales of large volumes sold since 18 September, when full export sales were last reported.
From 19-29 September, USDA reported 889,000t of corn sales, including 572,000t sold to Mexico. Nearly all of those sales to Mexico were for the 2025-26 marketing year, except for 22,000t to be exported in 2026-27.
Mexico has been extremely active in the US corn market for 2025-26, with a record 8.91mn t in commitments as of 18 September. Adding in the individual sales reported across the last two weeks, Mexico's total purchases have exceeded 9mn t.
The remaining 317,000t of reported corn sales were to unknown destinations for 2025-26.
The USDA also published one sale of soybean cake and meal to Guatemala totaling 101,400t.
