Moroccan phosphate giant OCP plans to restart its 100,000 t/yr technical MAP (12-61) water-soluble fertilizer facility at Jorf Lasfar at the end of the month after planned maintenance.
OCP is taking orders for early-February shipments onwards.
Customers said in late November that OCP had planned a shutdown of around four weeks.
The restart will boost supply of tMAP at a time when Chinese exports of tMAP are expected to be much reduced through to at least August. Russian producer PhosAgro is also planning to expand tMAP output to 75,000 t/yr from a nameplate 44,000 t/yr this month, although it has yet to confirm exact timings.
