Nepal issues tenders to buy urea

Nepalese state agency Krishi Samagri (KSCL), formerly AICL, and government-backed importer Salt Trading have issued tenders to buy two urea cargoes, closing next month.

Salt Trading issued a tender for 22,500t of urea, closing on 6 January. The cargo needs to be delivered within 45 days of the opening of the letter of credit.

KSCL issued a tender for 30,000t of urea, closing on 21 January. Half of the shipment is to be delivered within 90 days from the seventh day of the opening of the letter of credit, with the rest within 110 days of the latter.

The cargoes are to be delivered on a cip Nepal bagged basis at the Biratnagar, Birgunj and Bhairahawa warehouses of KSCL and Salt Trading respectively.

KSCL previously awarded to IPL in September to buy 25,000t of granular urea at $409/t bagged delivered to warehouses in Nepal.
