Gaslog Windor completes sea trials

The 180,000m³ Gaslog Windsor LNG carrier has finished sea trials, Bermuda-based owner Gaslog said today.

Completion of the trials means the vessel is set to begin its seven-year term charter with UK utility Centrica.

The vessel — built by South Korean builder Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) — is the first of five LNG carriers scheduled to be delivered to Gaslog this year, all of which are tied to long-term charters for a minimum of seven years. SHI is constructing all seven LNG carriers on Gaslog's orderbook.

Centrica is set to receive a second Gaslog newbuild in the third quarter of this year under a seven-year charter, with Japanese firm Jera receiving a third vessel in the second quarter under a 12-year charter. The two vessels will also have a 180,000m³ capacity. And US operator Cheniere is scheduled to receive two 174,000m³ Gaslog newbuilds in the fourth quarter of this year under charter until 2027.
