Canadian fertilizer distributor and producer Northern Nutrients is building a plant in Saskatchewan, Canada, for the production of sulphur-enhanced urea fertilizer.

Construction on the plant will begin in July, with an expected completion date of early 2022. The production process will use Shell's Thiogro technology for incorporating elemental sulphur into urea. The expected sulphur consumption capacity of the plant is 40,000 t/yr of molten product, with urea consumption expected at 15,000 t/yr at capacity.
