3R takes over Reconcavo field operations

Brazilian oil company 3R Petroleum has taken over as the operator of the onshore Reconcavo cluster, with its 14 production fields in Bahia state.

The Reconcavo cluster had average production of 4,811 b/d of oil equivelant (boe/d) in 2021, with 2,932 b/d of liquids and 466,000m³ of natural gas. The fields also are estimated to have 75mn boe in proven and probable (2P) reserves, with 58.8mn boe in proven reserves (1P), according to oilfield consultants DeGolyer & MacNaughton

The company bought the field from Petrobras in December 2020 for $250mn.
