Steelmaker NLMK USA has increased its prices to minimums of $1,000/short ton (st) for hot rolled coil (HRC) and $1,200/st for cold rolled coil (CRC) and hot dipped galvanized (HDG) coil products.
The company, which announced the price increases this morning, is the latest to raise prices after three of the four major US steelmakers — Cleveland-Cliffs, Nucor, and US Steel— also lifted flat rolled steel prices Tuesday by $100/st.
AM/NS Calvert, Cleveland-Cliffs and Nucor raised their HRC price minimums to $1,000/st, but NLMK USA is the only one to publish price minimums for CRC and HDG products.
The fourth of the large US-based steelmakers, electric arc furnace (EAF) steelmaker Steel Dynamics (SDI), has not made a price announcement and typically does not publish its price increases.
