Ferrous and nonferrous metal recycler Scrap Management Industries (SMI) acquired two recycling facilities.
The acquisition included Lawrence, Kansas-based Haskell Recycle Center and Ottawa, Kansas-based East Wilson Recycle. The yards are located between 40-50 miles southwest of Kansas City.
Both locations will be used as a feeder yard for SMI's existing Kansas City shredder operations.
SMI has operations in nine locations with four shredders across the Midwest including two in Kansas City, Missouri, and one each in Park City, Kansas, and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
The company was formerly known as Midwest Scrap Management.
