Nova Chemicals' olefins plant in Geismar, Louisiana, sustained no damage from Hurricane Ida and the facility currently has power, the company said today.

The plant was preemptively shut down ahead of the storm on 28 August. The company said that it was too early to say when the facility would restart.

The site is home to a 880,000 metric tonne (t)/yr merchant ethane-propane cracker. The plant also produces polymer grade propylene and other co-products.
