Brazil's oil and gas regulator ANP authorized Origem Energia's new natural gas processing unit (UPGN) in Alagoas state to begin operations.
The 1.8mn m³/d (63.6mn cf/d) UPGN is part of the Alagoas Hub, which includes seven onshore and shallow water production concessions operated by state-controlled Petrobras since the 1970s; and two treatment stations and a network of 230km of pipelines with direct access to the TAMAC oil export terminal, located in the Alagoas state capital.
Petrobras announced the $300mn sale of its Alagoas Hub assets to Brazilian independent Origem Energia last July.
