US rebar prices were broadly steady this week as import prices increased.
Rebar ex-works Midwest remained at $980/short ton (st), while imported rebar edged up by $10/st to $950/st.
Rebar demand in the US remains steady as the construction industry remains active.
Overseas producers were reported to have to contend with higher costs. Energy costs in Europe and Turkey have increased as both contend with a squeeze in natural gas supply from Russia.
