Estimates for the amount of vehicle production lost in North America from semiconductor shortages during 2022 continue to deepen.

Production cut estimates have jumped by 47,000 vehicles in 2022 over the last week to 620,000, according to the latest estimates from AutoForecast Solutions released on Monday.

As losses mount for the year, the production of another 450,000 vehicles remains at risk.

The region's automotive industry has been beset by persistent shortages since January 2021, and has lost the production of 2.91mn vehicles since then.
