US steelmaker Nucor raised its spot hot-rolled coil (HRC) price by $10/short ton (st).
The company's HRC consumer spot price (CSP) is now $760/st for all flat-rolled steel mills outside of California and $820/st for mills in California.
Lead times for all spot orders remain unchanged at three to five weeks.
This marked the first change to Nucor's HRC CSP since 12 November 2024.
Nucor's spot price now sits $40/st below integrated competitor Cleveland-Cliffs' published spot price, which opened its February spot HRC order book at $800/st with a lead time of at least eight weeks.
Argus assessed US HRC Midwest and southern prices both higher by $20/st on 21 January at $690/st and $700/st ex-works, respectively.
