Formosa's Point Comfort, Texas plant reported a process gas compressor tripped at olefins unit No. 2 yesterday, according to a filing with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.
The event resulted in flaring of butadiene, benzene, and ethylene, according to the filing.
The plant has the capability to produce up to 1.4bn lbs/yr of ethylene.
