Williams' newly expanded Geismar, Louisiana ethylene cracker will ramp up production rates to 1.95bn lb/yr by June, the company announced today.
The facility, which restarted in late March, is currently running at its re-expansion base rate of 1.35bn lb/yr.
"The expanded plant was ramping up when a new transformer that supplied power to a plant expansion compressor unexpectedly failed," the company stated. "The transformer is being repaired at the original manufacturer's facility."
The Geismar cracker was shut for repairs and expansion work following a 2013 explosion.
