Peru faces LPG supply disruptions

Peruvian energy regulator Osinergmin said two recent supply disruptions will not impact LPG deliveries to end-users as storage tanks operated by Zeta Gas and Repsol Gas near Lima and Pisco hold sufficient reserves to meet national demand.

The regulator reported that coastal currents are hindering waterborne hydrocarbon transport. Unfavorable seaborne conditions were coupled with an NGL pipeline rupture along the Camisea gas pipeline owned by Transportadora de Gas del Peru (TGP) that moves product from Camisea gas fields to Pisco. The rupture occurred in Anco, Ayacucho, on 30 April.

Osinergmin said current storage plants have 200,000 bl of LPG stored, which will be sufficient to meet national demand this week. The regulator also noted that a ship holding 200,000 bl of LPG is awaiting discharge.
