GDF Suez chief executive Gerard Mestrallet told the French senate today that he had few concerns over European gas supply security, despite tensions between Russia and UKraine.
Even a direct conflict between the two countries would not threaten Europe's supply security, as it is in Russia's interest to continue to sell gas to Europe, Mestrallet said.
But over the longer term, diversifying supply would be a solid basis for future supply security, he added.
