Formosa's Point Comfort, Texas plant is restarting its olefins No. 1 unit following scheduled maintenance, according to a filing with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.
The start up will result in flaring of NGLs, olefins, and aromatics today and tomorrow. The Point Comfort plant's two olefins units can produce up to 3.6mn lbs/yr of ethylene.
The No. 1 unit was shut for maintenance in late October.
