Australian NWS condensate supplies to fall in July

  • Mercados: Condensate, Crude oil
  • 05/05/23

Australian North West Shelf (NWS) condensate loadings will fall in July, partly because of minor maintenance, according to traders.

Just two 650,000 bl cargoes of NWS condensate will load in July, compared with three cargoes due to load in June.

Australian independent Woodside Energy will load the first NWS cargo over 11-15 July while Shell will load the other cargo over 24-28 July, according to the preliminary loading programme.

The lower volumes are also because a cargo initially scheduled to load at the end of June will now load between the end of June and early July. This will likely push July loadings back slightly. NWS condensate liftings are usually at least 10 days apart.

Weak naphtha margins had placed downward pressure on prices for June-loading NWS condensate, with cargoes sold last month at discounts close to $8/bl to North Sea Dated compared with discounts of $5-7/bl to Dated for May-loading cargoes.
