Australian heavy minerals developer Strandline Resources has made its second shipment of chloride ilmenite from its Coburn project in Western Australia, as operational improvement continues.
Strandline shipped 5,900t of chloride ilmenite as part of its five-year offtake agreement with US-based titanium dioxide producer Chemours.
The first shipment of 15,000t of zircon in concentrate is scheduled in October to Sanxiang Advanced Materials and Nanjing Rzisources International Trading in China as part of its offtake agreement for 100pc of Strandline-produced zircon in concentrate.
Strandline's total heavy mineral concentrate (HMC) output was approximately 30,133t for the July-September quarter, with stockpiles at Coburn and Geraldton Port comprising approximately 25,000t — consisting of 6,000t of chloride ilmenite, 15,000t of zircon in concentrate, 1,000t of standard grade zircon and 3,000t of HMC for feed into mineral separation plants (MSP).
The firm recently completed modifications to its wet concentrator plant, which resulted in higher separation efficiency and product quality. "Our focus remains on maximising revenue from the products being produced while continuing to optimise the MSP to produce premium grade zircon and rutile," said the firm's managing director Jozsef Patarica.
