Singapore, 13 January (Argus) —Malaysia's state-owned Petronas has resumed normal operations at its 300,000 t/yr group 3 base oil plant following a one-month shutdown for scheduled maintenance.

The 300,000 t/yr plant in Melaka, in southern Malaysia close to Singapore, started maintenance on 2 December, little more than a year after the unit began operations in October 2008.

Since then, Petronas has opened base oil storage and distribution terminals in Antwerp in Belgium, Genoa in Italy and Santos in Brazil. It plans to open more distribution terminals overseas over the course of this year.
