The liberalization of the Mexican fuels market has led international commodity price reporting agency Argus to open its first office in Mexico today, as the company continues to expand its global operations.

The Mexican energy sector is undergoing significant changes, which include opening up all areas of the domestic industry to competition and allowing prices to move according to market forces.

Energy reforms in Mexico are driving new investment opportunities and demand for market pricing, data, news and analysis in this dynamic market. Argus will use its Mexico City office to further develop its coverage of the local market and to continue bringing transparency to the various sectors covered by its reports.

The new office, which is located at Torre Virreyes, the heart of Mexico City’s business district, underscores Argus’ long-standing commitment to the country. Another recent demonstration of Argus’ dedication to this market is the launch of the Argus Mexico Fuel Markets report in 2017.

Argus Media chairman and chief executive Adrian Binks said: “Argus is proud to be able to offer transparent insight into the Mexican market. The opening of our new Mexico City office will allow us to serve our customers and provide on-the-ground information to the Mexican market.”
