Magellan confirmed a fire broke out in its petroleum storage complex on a tank contractors were cleaning at around 11am ET. The fire injured seven contractors, who were taken to local hospitals. Crews extinguished the blaze within an hour, according to the company.

"The seven contractors who were injured and their families are in our thoughts and prayers, and we are committed to determining the root cause of the accident," chief executive Mike Mears said.

The company operates a terminal with 6mn bl of crude and condensate storage capacity, as well as a 50,000 b/d condensate splitter, at its Corpus Christi site. The fire did not affect splitter operations, Magellan said.
