Greek shipowner Maran Gas has taken receipt of its 174,000m³ Isabella newbuild LNG carrier.

The delivery was made from South Korean shipbuilder Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering (DSME), with the new carrier leaving DSME's Okpo yard on 23 July.

Maran Gas is due to receive a further six new LNG carriers this year, all from DSME.

Two other new vessels have departed shipyards in recent days. Japan's Mitsui OSK Lines took receipt of its 174,000m³ Mol Hestia, which sailed from DSME's Okpo yard on 26 July. And fellow Greek shipowner Minerva Gas is likely to have taken receipt of its 174,000m³ Minerva Chios, which left South Korean firm Samsung Heavy Industries' Geoje shipyard today.

A further six new carriers are slated to join the global LNG fleet in August, with shipowners including Maran Gas, Denmark's Celsius, China's CSSC and Greece's Capital Gas and Gaslog all due to receive vessels.
