Australian SOP producer Kalium Lakes has achieved 1,784t of SOP production at its Beyondie SOP mine in January-March, which marks its highest quarterly production to date.
This is up from 780t in the previous quarter of September-December 2022. Kalium's monthly SOP production has been increasing month-on-month since the start of this year, reaching over 900t for the month of April as at 26 April, according to the company's quarterly report released on 28 April.
Kalium's total SOP sales in January-March amounted to 1,351t, up from 1,244t in the previous quarter. All SOP production was exported via its offtake partner, K+S Asia Pacific, at a reported average price of $1,016/t fob Australia.
Kalium shut down its plant for four weeks in August 2022 for rectification and optimisation works, after it had made its first SOP sale in late July 2022. Production has been proceeding smoothly since then, with the producer aiming to achieve a production rate of 60,000 t/yr by July.
