State-owned fertilizer producer Petronas has taken its 1.2mn t/yr urea-ammonia Sipitang plant off line for planned maintenance, the firm said on 29 July.
The turnaround is expected to last until the first half of September. This will likely tighten urea availability for August cargoes, and the producer has indicated an estimated production loss of around 140,000-150,000t of granular urea during this period.
