Vietnamese company Vinachem's Dinh Vu DAP plant has awarded its tender to buy 45,000t of minimum 27pc P2O5 Egyptian phosphate rock at $87-88/t cfr to a Vietnamese trading firm, according to traders.
Confirmation from the producer was not available.
The tender had requested for the cargo to arrive at Quang Ninh port by 20 September. Vietnam's rock imports this year is set to exceed that of last year's due to dwindling domestic output and declining quality of phosphate rock. This has pushed domestic producers Lao Cai and Dinh Vu — both of which are under the Vinachem group — to turn to imports.
