Crude production at the Agogo floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) facility offshore Angola is above 80,000 b/d, operator Azule Energy said.

The increase follows production optimisation initiatives and the successful tie-in of new wells. The facility has a nameplate capacity of 120,000 b/d.

The project achieved first oil in Angola's deepwater block 15/06 ahead of schedule in August 2025. Azule said earlier this year it experienced problems connecting new wells to the FPSO, slowing the ramp-up of production.

The Agogo Integrated West Hub (AIWH) project is a redevelopment of the Agogo, Ndungu and other block 15/06 fields. It uses the Agogo FPSO and the old 100,000 b/d Ngoma FPSO, targeting production plateau of 175,000 b/d across the two facilities. Azule said in May it would put two Agogo wells online, restart the Ochigufu field in July, and put three new Ndungu wells online by August. Block 15/06 output was 127,000 b/d in August, according to latest data from Angola's upstream regulator ANPG.

Azule is a 50:50 joint venture between Italy's Eni and BP. It operates block 15/06 with a 36.84pc stake. State-owned Sonangol and China's Sinopec International hold 36.84pc and 26.32pc stakes respectively.

Various oil service firms said last quarter they had received contracts from Azule under the West Hub Tails component of AIWH, which will redirect some output to the Agogo FPSO from the Ngoma FPSO.

Offers for the medium-sweet Agogo crude loading this month were at premiums of around $4.50/bl to North Sea Dated last week. Agogo exports are planned at 61,300 b/d and 63,300 b/d respectively in October and November, on two cargoes each month.
