Gerry has many years of experience in leading multinational petrochemicals companies, including Germany-based chemicals producer BASF and oil giant BP, where he worked as Asia Development Director for BP in China. Gerry currently works for Chinese chemicals producer Highsun, where he was previously Deputy General Manager for the firm’s Fujian Shenyuan New Materials subsidiary, and now is General Manager of Highsun International Chemical Trade Centre. He has been involved in the caprolactam and nylon supply chains for almost 30 years and has extensive connections within the industry in China, Asia-Pacific and across the globe.

Arthur holds an MBA in Agribusiness from USP/ESALQ and an MBA in Maritime Transportation and Multimodality from Erasmus University. Zhou Yue is a senior engineer with a master's degree and a member of the Communist Party of China. She has worked for the China Inorganic Salt Industry Association for over ten years, where she is now deputy secretary-general and secretary-general of its potash salt and potash fertilizer industry branch. She has long-term experience in policy research, development planning and industry statistics for the inorganic salt industry, particularly the potash salt and potash fertilizer sector. She also has extensive experience in macroeconomic market research, end-use market analysis and cooperation in the upstream and downstream supply chain.

Kon Wai Seng

Commercial Director Asia Pacific Low Carbon Solutions, ExxonMobil

Wai Seng is Commercial Director for Asia-Pacific for major oil company ExxonMobil’s low-carbon solutions division. He has held various roles in the low-carbon sector since 2022, focusing on business development and commercialising new value chains in carbon capture and storage, hydrogen, ammonia and lower-emissions fuels. A large portion of his current role is focused on developing hydrogen and ammonia value chains in Japan. Wai Seng has previously worked in engineering and management roles, including for subsea drilling and finished lubricants production, giving him a good understanding of the unique challenges of the energy transition across industries.

Ge Liu
International Trade Manager, SPIC-JEP

Ge is responsible for the international trade management of renewable energy sources such as hydrogen and ammonia at Jilin Electric Power’s sales company. She is involved in international markets, conducting trade negotiations and managing cross-border business operations, driving the company's international development in the renewable energy sector. Ge graduated from the School of Environmental Ecology at the University of California, Irvine, with a solid foundation in environmental science, and completed graduate studies at the UK’s Warwick Business School, specialising in business management.

Andrea Valentini

Andrea Valentini has 15 years of experience of commodities market analysis. He is currently leading Argus' global ammonia business, as well as hydrogen and fertilizers markets in APAC and Middle East. Andrea was also the lead author of the highly regarded Argus Green Ammonia Strategy Report. Prior to joining Argus, he was the head of consulting for Integer Research. He is a regular speaker and industry events and has over 10 years of experience in APAC markets. Andrea is a graduate in Economics from the University of Padua in Italy and holds an MBA from McGill University, Canada.

Fang Xie

Having joined Argus FMB as a senior analyst in 2013, Xie now covers the urea, ammonium sulphate, ammonia, sulphur and sulphuric acid markets as the fertilizers team manager. Before this, he worked as a technician at China Oil Jilin Company, as editor in chief for China Fertilizer Market Week at China National Chemical Information Centre and as an analyst at Mosaic.

Huijun Yao
Editor of Asia Fertilizers, Argus Media

Based in Singapore, Huijun covers the phosphates, potash and NPK markets in southeast Asia and China, contributing to Argus’ weekly reports on these markets. She has been invited to speak on global and regional fertilizer markets at various conferences, including the Argus Fertilizer Asia Conferences in 2023 and 2024 and China’s CPFIA conference in 2023. Before joining Argus, she was a financial due diligence analyst with a research focus on Asian companies and individuals, as well as working experience in the tertiary education and government sectors. She has a master of arts degree focusing on post-colonial studies and cultural representation in Japan, as well as a bachelor of arts degree (Japanese Studies), both from the National University of Singapore.

Julia Zhang is the agriculture market analyst manager for Argus, and she will give a quick look at planting and production of China’s major agricultural commodities.

Julia Zhang joined Argus in 2020 and has over 20 years of experience working at global agriculture companies, with a solid background in grains and oilseeds fundamental analysis. Argus has been bringing transparency to international commodity markets for more than 50 years. Argus covers commodity markets from upstream to downstream through accurate, reliable pricing and actionable information. Lilian Liu
Lead analyst of nickel and stainless steel markets, Argus

Lilian has 20 years of experience as a commodities market analyst specializing in nickel and stainless steel, including three years at Argus. Before joining Argus, she was a senior expert at the state-owned consulting institute Antaike and a deputy secretary-general of the nickel branch of the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association (CNIA). She is a regular speaker at industry events and has witnessed the rapid development of the nickel market in Indonesia, policy change, and transformations in China’s nickel and stainless steel sectors. She holds an MPA degree from the University of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.

Deon has been reporting for the Argus Sulphur and Argus Sulphuric Acid reports since 2021, contributing price assessments, analysis, news pieces and market commentaries. He has an honours degree with a distinction in economics and a minor in language studies from the National University of Singapore.

Dinise has been covering the ammonia and nitrogen markets at Argus for the past two years. She is responsible for covering Asia in the Argus Nitrogen and Ammonia reports, producing market commentaries, price assessments and analysis pieces. Dinise has a bachelor of arts degree (Hons) in English literature and new media from the National University of Singapore and was enrolled in the prestigious University Scholars Programme.

Yohanna Jing

Yohanna has been responsible for assessing prices for phosphate, potash and NPKs in China and contributing to the development of new prices, news pieces and market commentaries since joining Argus in 2023. Before this, she spent two years covering monetary and fiscal policy in the US and EU, as well as other topics related to global macroeconomics at financial media outlets, gaining a valuable perspective on the factors that influence global trade and economy. Yohanna has a master’s degree in journalism and communications from Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
