The growth of Russian coal imports to Poland might be restrained by new Polish coal quality regulating rules for households and small users that will become effective in September-October. Suppliers and importers of sized coal are concerned that some of the requirements will be difficult to meet, as sizes and moisture contents might change during long-distance transportations by train. The penalty for suppliers failing to meet declared quality standards is 500,000 zlotys ($137,050).
