Chevron Phillips Chemical is beginning maintenance activities at its Cedar Bayou, Texas polyethylene plant today, according to a filing with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.
Tank 1804 will be de-inventoried, degassed, cleaned and taken out of service for planned maintenance, resulting in emissions through 16 April, according to the filing.
The Cedar Bayou facility can produce approximately 281,000 t/yr of low density polyethylene (LDPE), 220,000 t/yr of high density polyethylene (HDPE), and 191,000 t/yr of linear low density polyethylene-high density polyethylene (LLDPE-HDPE).
