Chevron Phillips Chemical reported emissions of ethylene and butene at its Cedar Bayou, Texas chemical plant yesterday after a pipe leak, according to a filing with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.
The pipe began to leak during a procedure to pressure up a D-310A effluent separator, according to the filing. The unit was isolated and taken out of service.
The Cedar Bayou facility can produce approximately 771,000 t/yr of ethylene.
