Calgary-based Nova Chemical appointed Todd Karran, who served as the company's acting chief executive since May 2014, president and chief executive officer.
Karran was serving as both acting chief executive and chief financial officer; the company continues to search for a new CFO.
Nova, a subsidiary of United Arab Emirates International Petroleum Investment Company, operates an ethylene cracker and derivative units in Joffre, Alberta. The company is currently adding a third polyethylene reactor to its site in Joffre, Alberta scheduled for completion in mid-2016.
