Indonesian private-sector petrochemical producer Chandra Asri is expected to start up new polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP) capacity by the end of this year.
The producer is on track to start up production of its 400,000 t/yr linear low-density polyethylene and high-density polyethylene plant at its Cilegon complex in west Java before the end of the year. Chandra Asri is expected to expand its current PP production from 480,000 t/y to 590,000 t/y during the same time frame.
Chandra Asri operates Indonesia's sole petrochemical cracker, which uses naphtha as a feedstock.
