A fire broke out at a storage tank containing benzene at Indonesian state-owned refiner Pertamina's 348,000 b/d Cilacap plant in central Java on 11 June.
The fire, which began on the evening of 11 June, was put out yesterday morning with no injuries and the cause is being investigated, a company source told Argus.
The impact on Indonesian benzene supplies is expected to be minimal as the fire broke out at a day tank, which is smaller than a usual storage tank, a source with knowledge of the matter told Argus.
Pertamina will secure supplies from its subsidiary TPPI to make up for any shortfall resulting from the incident, according to the same source. TPPI operates a 100,000 b/d condensate splitter at Tuban in east Java.
