Dow preemptively shut down its manufacturing operations in Louisiana ahead of Hurricane Ida's landfall yesterday.
Dow shut operations at Louisiana petrochemical plants in Plaquemine, Taft, Grand Bayou and Greensburg. The Plaquemine site has 1.247mn metric tonnes (t)/yr of ethylene capacity and also produces polyethylene and other derivatives. The Taft site has 1mn t/yr of ethylene capacity and produces polyethylene and other derivatives.
Ports in Louisiana and Mississippi remained closed this morning as the remnants of Ida move inland after coming ashore yesterday near Port Fourchon, Louisiana.
